new site

agh. ffs. the band (sugarstone) are about to do our last gig. why? well, never mind. it is what it is.

in 2018 i will be 51 years old. kind of always thought i wouldn't still be playing in pubs at 50. seemed a bit sad when we were thirty sommat. then again being thirty sommat seemed sad when we were twenty sommat.. and so on. one keeps on because there's still joy in it, and age doesn't matter so much, events become less important as we become increasingly, though not necessarily consciously, aware of the bigger picture. this happened. that happened, yeah well, it could be worse, just keep on with it. whatever it may be.

every now and then the often discussed last straw will emerge and be ignored and moved past. the camels back may still be intact, but whatever. it is what it is. mystery and shit metaphors aside, here's a new website thing.

a stylemuffin website.

stylemuffin is just a cute word that forms what we marketing wankers call a platform. yeah.

a platform for stuff i've done, been involved with. i am called stephen, steve, sel and i am a bloke what wrote a load of songs, and a book about them, and played in pubs & clubs for ages around the north east of england, and briefly in kent. right now i'm not doing that. preferring instead to watch netflix.

the music stuff on here is mostly mine. i was the main songwriter for the band sugarstone and also for the carbinerifles which was a recording idea done in collaboration with my two children.

i continue to write very intermittently and will hopefully be able to add new stuff to this site over time.

honestly it doesn't really matter if anyone ever hears any of it, it just matters that it exists, and that it is here.
