2023 nearly done already

I've not posted since April 22. wow.

today is December 1st, Friday & I've got a day off. did this last week too. burning up the last of the holiday allocation for the year.

it's nice.

the 3 day weekend last week felt like more. i guess cos the work element of life is such a blur, its great to be able to do nowt for a bit. not nowt exactly but productive relax-y stuff.

i finished album number 6.

well, I like convoluted names innit. not exactly memorable but distinctive.

Capt Turmoil is me of course & probs the Caution Horses too. & the album is all riffy. so that's it then.

it's on spotify. mind everyone is on spotify, but there is something nice about that. something nice about having albums. problem with streaming platforms is that everyone can see how many listens it gets.

i have a dog now. he's called Ray & we adore him. taking him for a night away in Northumberland tonight. we'll see how that goes.

last night the band played in Yarm & the turnout was really poor. We were pretty good though, played well. nice little band.

I think I'll have a go at doing some videos for a couple of the songs on the album, that could be fun. although whenever I think that I end up doing something that's profoundly frustrating. patience wears thin with age.

and learning a new platform, remembering your password for it etc is the definition of proper fucking meh.

i sighed when i thought that.

but there are some wonderful AI options available for doing stuff like this. I mastered the album using an AI platform & it sounds great to me, everything as loud as everything else. not exactly as i intended it to sound, but you have to assume that AI knows what it's doing. how else will it destroy us all?

there were more songs which never made the album this time. i had to draw a line under it. the original one which started me on it is still there needing finishing, so maybe next year.

feel like i maybe on a little creative roll.

I have a few ideas for EPs. not enough for an album but little, more unusual things to do. I suggested to the kids that we do an album of TV themes and i should have known they'd have countless ideas for tracks. could be cool to do that. already started tbh.

i watched a sub earlier of 2 aussies making each other laugh by riffing on the idea of champagne only being such if it's from the Champagne region, otherwise its just a sparkling wine. made me laugh too. he's not really your fiance unless he's from the fiance region of France, otherwise he's just a sparkling bro, or as i like to say - brosecco. it's not a real pussy unless it's from the pousee region of France, otherwise it's just a sparkling cunt.
